PRINCIPAL’S CORNER

What a great start to the year. The positive environment, the excited instructors, and the students enjoying the idea that normalcy exists. There are going to be some unique challenges this year and it is going to take the school, parents, and our community to continue to help our students become successful.Parents, please make sure that we can communicate with you. Help us get your email and phone information all up to date through the front office so that we can keep you informed. Please ask your children if they are able to communicate with the school through the use of technology. Ask them what they are learning through Google Classroom and have them show you how it works. You can also be involved with Google Classroom and see what your student is working on. Contact the teacher and they will show you how.

Preparation is our key to success this year. In order for us to have all students be successful we need to be prepared with our use and integration of technology. The future is uncertain with COVID. We want to make sure that if we have to close the school, that we are able to still educate students, through the use of technology, in a way to help make them successful.

The teachers are continuing to educate our students and themselves, with professional development, to find distant learning solutions in education. Education has changed and forever will be changed because of these circumstances. We need to embrace the change so our students do not get left behind. We want to be able to provide the best for our students in all circumstances. I am proud of my faculty and staff for investing in students and wanting to help them, in all circumstances, toward their educational success.

Hobbies

I love to read, cross stitch, play sports (volleyball and bowling are the favorites, but I like them all), taking long walks or hikes, and spending time with family and friends.

What has been your most rewarding experience at Hagerman Junior High?

I love it when one of my students finally gets a concept that they have been struggling with. It is for that reason I became a teacher. There have been numerous times (too many to pick just one). I love the students here at Hagerman. I have taught in two other schools, and Hagerman is the best of the three.

What is one of your favorite things to do?

One of my favorite things to do is to go on road trips with my sisters and daughter. This past summer I went to North Idaho zip lining, gold mining, and fossil digging. I also made a trip out to Illinois to visit a sister and her family. There I got to visit the St. Louis Zoo and Science Center. I also saw where Abe Lincoln and the tallest man, Robert Wadlow lived. Next year I plan on visiting different Nation Parks.

We would like to thank Mrs. Solosabal for all the she has done for the Hagerman Junior High and High School. She is very passionate and very invested in making sure our students succeed. We appreciate her attention to detail and how she is able to get the most out of all of her students. Thank Mrs. Solosabal for being our Spotlight Teacher.
